I was expecting to capture some spectacular footage or a spectacular crash - watch to the end and find out! This is a no-holds-barred maiden flight with a GoPro strapped underneath. This test wasn’t just about the camera - I also show a clever fix for a known weak point: the landing gear. Some of you Sportix 1.1m pilots may have experienced the stock landing gear tearing out of the plastic chassis. We reinforced mine with a bolt-through mod and an aluminium plate to keep her airborne. This foam RC Plane repair video is after practicing my driveway landings and take-offs. At this point I'd only been flying this beauty for a total of about 2 - 3hrs hours. The last attempt to take off again after a pretty successful landed resulted in the first major breakage of my brand new toy :-( These foam planes are pretty easy to fix and get flying again so if you are a noob like me, don't panic!
