First time getting the E-flite Night Timber X Evolution up in the evening sky and wow this thing puts on an absolute light show. I’ve been waiting for a good night to give this a crack. The built-in LEDs are brilliant, making it incredibly easy to keep your orientation even when it's pitch black out. Flight details: The setup: Running a 4S battery for that extra bit of punch. Handling: It still has all that classic Timber STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) performance, and it handles just as well as it does during the day. The visuals: The internal lights illuminate the whole airframe perfectly—definitely looks a bit like a UFO from a distance. After two failed attempts that nearly made me give up on this plane entirely, the Dancing Wings Hobby Stick 14 is finally in the air - and it flies beautifully now it's set up following #BrianPhillipsRC build videos. Took on a half marathon loop around Lake Hātumā with my wife. Not a race - just a personal challenge to get around the lake and see how we'd hold up. Rolled over the Hātumā mountains ;-) and then on to the halfway mark feeling surprisingly good, and somehow kept talking to each other all the way to the finish. A energy gel or two definately helped. Filmed as we ran — raw, unfiltered and a bit of a laugh!
21km 1/2 Marathon Challenge around Lake Hatuma
This old UMX Turbo Timber has had a rough life… plenty of crashes, repairs and hard landings So I finally stopped talking about rebuilding it and just did it. Everything from the old airframe got transplanted into a brand new fuselage and wing - servos, electronics, lights, the lot. I even cut my own vinyl graphics and added a simple landing gear fix after getting sick of replacing them. This is the true maiden of the rebuild. A few CG tweaks, long grass takeoff, and thankfully… she flies beautifully. Really happy with how this one turned out but here's a pro tip for you: I have learnt that it is cheaper to purchase a brand new plane than it is to replace all the bits and pieces ... by heaps! :-)

We did NOT expect it to fly this well ... This Christmas present build really surprised us how good it was! For a rubber band glider, this thing can actually FLY. We think it definitely needed adult help to build but a great project with my Grandson Toby
