Back out with the Parkzone Radian Pro for round two – this time in the evening breeze! After a calm maiden flight earlier in the day, I wanted to see how this RC glider handled a bit more wind! With the sun going down and the chill setting in, the Radian Pro showed off its soaring skills, picking up every gust rolling over the hills. On this day, I took my Parkzone Radian Pro out for its maiden flight (for me!) - and it’s also my first time ever flying an RC glider. Unlike my usual powered RC planes, this one is all about smooth, quiet soaring, catching updrafts, and relaxing in the sky. This Radian Pro was gifted to me by my neighbor (thanks Brett!), and despite its age, it still flies beautifully. With flaps, ailerons, and incredible glide time, it’s a whole new RC flying experience compared to the other #rcplanes I usually fly. This flight has me hooked - I can see why people love gliders! Flying an RC plane in wide open fields is fun — but what happens when your flight zone is full of trees, power lines, and tight landing strips? In this video, I put my E-flite Sportix 1.1m RC plane to the test in my own backyard! With only a narrow line for takeoff and landing, every flight is about precision, timing, and a little bit of nerve. I’m still flying mostly in SAFE mode (not quite ready for full AS3X commitment), but even so, it’s fast, responsive, and a real challenge in such a confined space. It’s not always smooth — wing drops, tricky winds, and last-minute saves are all part of the action. The Night Timber X Evolution feels incredibly solid, forgiving, and fun to fly - a big step up from my smaller UMX Timber Turbo.
